How to Position for the Next 3 Years (AI, Tesla, SpaceX, Crypto) đ°ïž
In this episode, James and Joe discuss how to position for the next three years, covering AI, Tesla, SpaceX, and crypto.
State of AI
- Transition from AI to AGI: They place current AI between narrow AI and AGI, with early glimpses of ASI.
- 2026 as the last normal year: Joe argues the singularity started in January 2025 and will conclude by end of 2027. 2026 is the last year we can call "normal".
- Sandwich situation in AI market: Grokbot and SpaceX are squeezing the middle (models) and top (agentic interfaces). Compute becomes the ultimate moat.
Investments and Positioning
- Recommendations: Build conviction in a few well-understood assets â mainly Tesla and SpaceX. Avoid constant rotation.
- Tesla: Despite delays in Cybercab and Optimus, long-term TAMs (self-driving cars, humanoids) remain enormous.
- SpaceX: Seen as acquiring Tesla with a 30â40% premium. Huge opportunity in orbital compute.
- Crypto: Bitcoin and Ethereum as long-term holds, but no active trading advised.
Political and Societal Perspectives
- UBI as necessity: Massive job displacement from AI is coming; UBI is inevitable but must be designed wisely.
- Europe vs. USA: Europe has great potential but destroys it through regulation and taxation. The US under Trump is more pragmatic â he brings tech elites to the table.
- Location strategy: In a crisis, safety matters more than money. Live in regions with a good "pioneer-to-zombie" ratio (e.g., Montana vs. Bronx).
