The Porsche 911’s Worst Nightmare, Made In China! | 4K

Denza – China's Answer to Porsche and Aston Martin

The Chinese brand Denza (joint venture of BYD and Daimler) is launching two exciting models, set to arrive in the UK by 2026. Both are based on the EQ platform with a triple-motor setup (two rear, one front) and megawatt charging capability (up to 1,500 kW).

Denza Z – Sports Coupe and Spider
  • Power: 1,583 hp (1,180 kW), 1,259 Nm torque
  • Acceleration: 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 2.25 seconds, top speed over 299 km/h (186 mph)
  • Battery: 76 kWh LFP blade battery, 10–80% in about 4 minutes (at 1,500 kW)
  • Weight: 2,230 kg
  • Variants: Coupe, Spider (convertible) and a track version with adjustable rear wing (160 kg downforce at 349 km/h / 217 mph)
  • Suspension: DUISM – magnetorheological dampers, by-wire steering, brakes and drivetrain – reads the road via cameras and sensors, adapts in real-time, can even lift a wheel after a blowout to slow down safely
  • Crab Walk: Extreme rear-wheel steering allows diagonal driving („crab mode“)
  • Interior: Manual air vents, physical buttons, camera mirrors, fridge in center console, 2+2 seating (rear seats for children), decent boot space

Denza Z9 GT – Electric Shooting Brake
  • Power: 952 hp (710 kW), 1,149 Nm torque
  • Acceleration: 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 3.4 seconds, top speed 240 km/h (149 mph)
  • Battery: 122 kWh LFP blade battery, range up to 629 km (391 miles) (WLTP), 250 km (155 miles) of range in 5 minutes (with megawatt charger)
  • Variants: Full BEV or plug-in hybrid (in China)
  • Design: Five-door shooting brake with many styling lines, intelligent LED headlights, large wheels
  • Interior: Three screens (driver, center, passenger), physical buttons, fridge, generous rear seat space and boot
  • Suspension: Same DUISM technology with height adjustment, anti-roll, and a „motion sickness relief“ mode that reduces discomfort for passengers
  • Price: Not yet announced, but expected to undercut Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo or Aston Martin Vantage significantly

Shared Technology Highlights
  • Three independent motors (one front, two rear) allow individual traction and active torque vectoring
  • By-wire system („DUISM“) integrates chassis, steering, brakes and drivetrain – faster than mechanical systems
  • Megawatt charging (1,500 kW) – currently only available in China; Denza plans powerbank-supported fast chargers in the UK
  • Cell-to-body battery (LFP) – stiffer, more compact, integrated into chassis structure
  • Rear-wheel steering up to extreme angles – Crab Walk and Pencil Turns (tight circles with counter-steering rear wheels)
  • Safety function: In case of a blowout, the system briefly lifts the affected wheel and slows the car controllably

Conclusion: Denza brings serious competition from China – highly innovative technology, strong performance, ultra-fast charging and luxurious interiors. Whether they will truly become the Porsche 911’s worst nightmare will be proven by first driving impressions.
